Tasting green would be...a plant, I think. So maybe not so bad? We eat plants. This is red like...cherries but even sweeter.

Green could also be something spoiled.

Sometimes the things you'd forage wouldn't come in like you'd hoped. Sometimes you didn't find an animal to hunt. You end up making do with what you already have.

Even if it makes you sick?

People get hungry. And maybe you won't get sick. Maybe it hasn't gone yet, and maybe you can cut out the part that looks like it's turned. Maybe if you cook it really well.

There were some tight winters when I was little, but Rost made the best of things that he could. And once I had the Focus, and was decent with the bow, it got easier.

[Rost was a damn good hunter in the first place. Then foraging and hunting's so much easier once you have detective vision.]

...When we first woke up here, I was so worried I wouldn't be able to figure out getting food. I couldn't even wash my own clothes. Even just worrying about it was hard...I can't imagine what it must have been like for it to be a reality. For you, or anyone else on Earth.

Well - it's hard, without some of the things the ancients had. But when you're growing up in it, you learn what you have to do as you grow. For you - everything must have piled on you at once.

I'd already anticipated the difficulty when considering escape routes from the Zeniths, so it wasn't as bad as it could have been.
