Quarantine Zone. When the Outbreak hit, they shuttled as many people as they could fit in protected cities. Some of them are still around. People that don't wanna risk the outside, kids without families, smugglers. All shoved together in one shitty place under the militaries rule.
Infected trying to kill you, hunters trying to kill you, other non-hunter survivors trying to kill you, animals trying to kill you... loootta of shit trying to kill you, basically. And that's just the stuff that's alive.
The outsides not all bad. Its kind of beautiful with everything overgrown. There's old stores everywhere, or government buildings, or schools, and other stuff like that. They're pretty cool to explore and there's a ton of cool shit everywhere if it's not broken. Just right there where they left it.
Going to a music store must have been awesome. Maybe I can get my Walkman as a burden.
Bingo. It's this little plastic rectangle that you put a tape in, and there's these things that go in your ears so you can listen to the music it plays. I've had to fix it a bunch, it's pretty old.
[ if Aloy will let her, she shows her how to grip the gun properly, manually fixing her hand placement ]
Okay, rules. First, always know where your fingers are, and don't put your finger on the trigger unless you're ready to shoot. Keep it next to it, but off the trigger. Otherwise, keep it next to it. Second, don't point it at someone or something unless you're prepared to shoot them. This ties into the third: Treat the gun as if it's loaded, even if it's not. Even if you just took the clip out. It only takes one fuck up to shoot yourself in the face.
It's a hell of a last faster than a bow, and it'll go off 10 times easier. Gotta respect it.

[Just disappear into the woods. Foolproof.]

...Well. Suppose you have to live somewhere.

"Took the clip out?"
Re: day 42
[ she indicates how Aloy can eject it. ]
When you run out, you load another. This can hold six, so you gotta keep count.
